A Family Connection to Paradise
Paradise has become home to our family in more ways than one.
My husband’s connection to Paradise goes back decades. He lived here in the late 1990s and early 2000s while attending Butte college and helping care for his grandparents. His grandparents are buried here, and this community has always held a special place in his heart.
After the Camp Fire, he wanted to come back and be part of Paradise’s rebuilding. Together, we made the decision to put down roots here and build our family in this community.
I’m a Registered Nurse, Navy veteran, mother, and homeschooler. Over the years, my family and I have experienced Paradise not simply as a place to live, but as a community to invest in, raise our children in, and care about.
I’ve seen the challenges our town has faced, but I’ve also seen the people who continue to show up, rebuild, help their neighbors, and believe in what Paradise can become.
That is the Paradise I want to be part of moving forward.
From Homemaking to Helping Others
My work outside of public service has always centered around helping people find practical ways to build a healthier, more sustainable life.
As a homemaker and homesteader, I began sharing what I was learning through my blog, Pioneer Health Homestead, and my YouTube channel. What started as a way to share our family’s experiences grew into a small entrepreneurial venture focused on natural living, from-scratch cooking, gardening, herbal remedies, homemaking, and making the most of what we already have.
I enjoy taking complicated ideas and making them practical and approachable. Whether I’m sharing a recipe, preserving something from the garden, finding ways to stretch a grocery budget, or talking about natural approaches to everyday wellness, my goal has always been to help people feel more capable and confident.
That same mindset shapes how I approach community service.
I believe good leadership starts with listening, understanding the practical realities people face, and looking for solutions that actually work. Paradise is full of people with skills, ideas, experience, and a genuine desire to make their community better. I want to help create more opportunities for those people to be heard and involved.
We all have something to contribute to the future of Paradise.
